Maggie Marilyn has enjoyed a rapid rise since debuting the brand’s first collection in late 2016 and they’ve recently released Season Five. Titled “We’ve Got This” the energetic new range is a Pre-Fall collection that celebrates the brand’s customers and is a thank you for their support. Designer and founder Maggie Hewitt has had quite a journey over the past couple of years going from new graduate designer to fully fledged businesswoman running an international operation. The designer is always optimistic in her outlook and wants to express her positivity and courage with her followers.
“I want to offer the Maggie Marilyn customer a feeling of not only empowerment, but knowing that they are a part of something,” says Maggie Hewitt. “For them to know that together, we have the power to conquer our darkest fears and fulfill our greatest dreams. No matter where you live or what you do, Maggie Marilyn has your back. So keep dreaming, have courage, wear your heart on your sleeve, and most importantly remember that you are part of something, and together “We’ve got this”.
The designer has learned a lot since dropping her first collection and that sense of progression is evident in Season Five which is a polished and cohesive range that follows her signature joyful style. Each piece is made ethically with a focus on using natural fibres and organic fabrications in wool, cotton and silk. The collection’s winsome colour palette of lavender, raspberry, pink, red and emerald is complemented by neutrals of grey, black and white.
Hewitt’s favoured ruffles and ruching feature throughout the collection on puffer jackets, dresses and tailored tops. Her style is modern and romantic which also feels accessible and able to be worn by many women. Each look is able to be beautifully layered and as always her sublimely detailed jackets and winsome dresses are particularly covetable.
“This collection is a thank you to all the women that have helped me through trying days, and testing circumstances,” adds Hewitt. “I hope my clothes this season, and the wardrobe that builds from it, will be able to return that favor. Clothes that help us realize our inner strength. To me, inspiration does not have to come from something so literal, visual or tangible, yet my greatest inspiration is the women I both wish to be and wish to inspire, the Maggie Marilyn woman.”
