Maaike release their captivating new collection for Spring/Summer 2018 in stores today and online tonight. The colourful new range is called ‘Rebel Flower’ and features a vibrant print in collaboration with talented NZ artist Evie Kemp. “After the success of our collaboration with Chicago based artist Spifster for Winter 18 we wanted to collaborate again and by chance when Emilie purchased a couple of Evie’s prints we found out she happened to be a fan of ours,” add designers Emilie Pullar and Abby van Schreven. “We love her fearless way with colour and knew we wanted to go bright again for Summer so it was a perfect match. Working together was a dream, we gave her a rough colour palette and she came back to us with a few concepts, all of which were amazing and we picked a couple to merge together. It was such an easy process and now we finally have it out in the world we are so excited by the response we have had.”
This year marks 8 years of Maaike and the contemporary womenswear brand has gone from strength to strength in that time. This season sees Maaike’s signature relaxed silhouettes beautifully utilised with the exclusive colourful print and bright hues of red, pink and cobalt blue with classic black. The designers create each piece to be comfortable and easy to wear with unique shapes and clever draping that make them modern and fresh. This range also features a few nods to 70s style as seen in wide leg jumpsuits and flowing kimonos. Rebel Flower has lots of gorgeous pieces to joyfully see in the warmer months.
