New Zealand makeup brand LuluRose Cosmetics recently debuted on the runway at Paris Fashion Week in New York brand Flying Solo’s Spring/Summer 2021 show. Head MUA Elen Cherednikova and her team personally chose and used LuluRose Cosmetics lipsticks to create the beautiful runway looks for the models, alongside makeup brands, Dior Cosmetics and M.A.C. Cosmetics.
“I am thrilled and think this is a first for a NZ brand,” says Shelley Houston founder of LuluRose Cosmetics. “I’m not surprised to see Elen has used LuluRose Cosmetics lipsticks for the show. They perform well using nourishing ingredients and we know they do not dry out lips, which is ever important for models.”
The Flying Solo presentation showcased some creative, independent designs from 26 different countries and featured online in Elle, Harpers Bazaar and Marie Claire. That’s a huge step forward for LuluRose Cosmetics that was founded 18 months ago in Shelley Houston’s kitchen. Shelley has always had a love affair with makeup, testing and playing since she was a little girl. She was inspired to create a safe and natural makeup brand after her beloved stepmother, Tracey was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Sadly, Tracey passed away before LuluRose Cosmetics was launched, but her legacy is at the heart of the brand.
