Looks from Loobie's Story's spring/summer 2016 collection.
Designer Laurinda Sutcliffe loves to travel and each Loobie's Story collection is inspired by a different exotic location with the latest spring/summer 2016 collection drawing inspiration from Italy's incredible Amalfi Coast. Titled La Dolce Vita, the beautiful range would fit right in on the Mediterranean coastline and is a perfect way to bring the joy and vibrancy of Italy to New Zealand this summer. “The Italian way of life is just so passionate and filled with colour,” says Sutcliffe.
The collection is effortlessly chic and has a sublime colour palette that focuses on whites and brights that have been "washed out a little in the Mediterranean sun" and feature on a mixture of exclusive digital prints that are created in house. ‘Positano’ is the hero print for the season and is named after the iconic cliffside village that is postcard perfect. This print is a great example of the brand’s ‘Pattern Mash’ theme for this collection which is created by using a clever combination of the seasonal prints in the range which are available in three different base cloths. The idea being that it creates lots of styling options withing the collection and the pattern mash concept is currently a global trend.
It's impossible not to love the laidback feel of this collection which flirts with bohemian looks and more ladylike styles. The gorgeous floral prints come in many variations and feature on lovely to wear fabrics including silk and linen, which are perfect choices for the warmer months. “Most of all we want to women to feel good this season,” says Sutcliffe, “and that goes for design and how our garments feel on the skin.”
There's a great mix of pieces with casual daywear looks of relaxed-fit tops, draped knits and comfortable denim making for easy to wear choices while refined dresses and gorgeous jackets would be wonderful occasion or eveningwear options. We're certainly charmed by this sublime range and we're sure the Loobie's Story woman will be too.
