Leading eyewear company Quay, which was founded in Australia and has since gone global, has teamed up with multi-platinum, award-winning singer, rapper, and truth-teller, Lizzo for a stunning new eyewear collection. The exciting new Quay x Lizzo collection features a range of slick sunglasses, blue light glasses and accessories which are available online.
Quay and Lizzo have also partnered with Feeding America, the largest domestic hunger-relief organisation in the USA to donate meals through a buy one, get one, give 100 meals programme. From May 21 – 26 every purchase (buy a pair and get one free) from the collection sees Quay provide at least 100 meals per eyewear purchase to people struggling with hunger. Together with Lizzo and their Quay community, the brand are committed to donating one million meals through Feeding America. $1 helps to provide at least ten meals secured by Feeding America on behalf of local member food banks.
The collaboration came about with Lizzo as the brand are big fans of the Cuz I Love You singer and wanted her as the face of the their Confidence is Quay campaign, “We see Lizzo as an icon of confidence, self-love, and self-expression,” says Quay CEO, Jodi Bricker. “Lizzo speaks her truth and, in doing so, empowers all of us to do the same. Confidence, self-expression, and authenticity are at the core of everything we do at Quay, and we’re excited to partner with someone who owns that and stand together to help underserved communities through Feeding America.”
For Lizzo the decision to collaborate was an easy one as the brand resonates with her too, “Quay is different from other eyewear brands out there,” says Lizzo. “They’re cool and fresh, but also inclusive and attainable. Their message of confidence and self-expression is something that I believe in and can stand behind. Combine all that with the opportunity to do good with Feeding America, and it doesn’t get much better than that.”
The eyewear itself is inspired by Lizzo’s bold, unapologetic style, and Quay’s team of in-house product designers created the range with her as their muse. Eight feel-good styles with gorgeous embellishments make up the range, including some of the brand’s bestselling shapes – cat eyes, aviators, and shields with prices starting at $65 (AUD).
“My style is always evolving. I like to mix it up, and I love that this collection has a little bit of everything. There’s one with glitter lenses, another with star-shaped studs,” adds Lizzo. “I like those kinds of special details. These glasses are fun and different.”
