Levi’s classic Trucker Jacket has been given an impressive tech update with the release of Levi’s Trucker Jacket with Jacquard™ by Google this season. It’s a revolutionary piece of tech which enables the jacket to use your smartphone’s functions by making simple gestures.
“We’re excited to continue this journey with our partners at Google ATAP,” says Paul Dillinger, VP Global Product Innovation, Levi Strauss & Co. “Two years after we first launched Jacquard – the technology has become smaller and more discrete, more affordable and with more useful but the premise and purpose remain the same: you can keep your phone in your pocket and your eyes on the world around you, staying connected without being distracted”.
The unisex jacket is available in Classic Trucker and Sherpa Trucker styles which cleverly merges Levi’s iconic denim with Google’s latest technology to make everyday life easier. Wearable tech has existed in various forms for a while but this is particularly sophisticated tech that is easily controlled with a few simple hand gestures to keep you connected while you’re on the go.
Thanks to the Jacquard™ by Google technology, the jackets feature an ever-expanding range of abilities, accessible via gestures on the cuff that are conducted through the Jacquard Tag, which is smaller than a stick of gum. Using the tech wearers can access navigation, ride share apps, weather and traffic reports, messaging, music, and more without having to pull out their phone. New features will be added regularly to the jackets meaning they’ll get even better with age and will definitely become your go-to jacket for everyday.
The Levi’s® Trucker with Jacquard™ by Google retails for $229.95 for the Classic Trucker and $299.95 for the Sherpa Trucker and are available exclusively at selected Barkers’ stores and online.
