Kick-start August with a new skincare routine

Winter can be tough on skin, and it’s easy to forget that winter skin needs (and deserves) hydration and attention just as much as summer skin. The start of a new month is the perfect time to implement a fresh routine, so we’ve tested some new products for you (we’re good like that!).

kit: All Body Dry Brush (RRP$29) & kit: Body Nutrition Lotion (RRP$40)

We’re late to the dry body brushing trend, but now that we’ve started, it’s hard to imagine life BBB (Before Body Brushing). It’s invigorating, strangely satisfying (despite initial alarm at the amount of ‘skin dust’ being shed), and doesn’t take long to be won over by the lure of almost immediately smoother skin. We’ve been DBB before showering, and then applying kit: Body Nutrition Lotion. Made from vegan-friendly and 100% natural ingredients, this lotion is super lightweight with an instantly uplifting and somewhat addictive crisp fragrance – a testament to the potent plant ingredients, botanical oils, and herbal adaptogens.

Katherine Daniels Gentle Oil & Salt Exfoliator (RRP$65) & Katherine Daniels Nourishing Hydrating Balm (RRP$65)

There’s something oddly enjoyable about exfoliating your skin, especially with a high-performing product like Katherine Daniels Gentle Oil & Salt Exfoliator. With the perfect ratio of oil and water and three different-sized sea salt crystals to help buffer away dead cells, you won’t need to wait long to see (and feel) the results. Take your skin nurturing to the next level and follow up with the award-winning Katherine Daniels Nourishing Hydrating Balm. Rich and buttery, it contains seaweed osmolyte to help hydrate (and prevent skin dehydration) and leaves skin supple and energised.

Soya Garden Lotion (RRP$59.95) & Soya Garden Hand Cream (RRP$29.95)

We’ve recently discovered this luscious New Zealand-made range of soy-based skincare and are instant fans. Harnessing the power of nature, there’s much to love, including the fact that all ingredients are sustainably and responsibly sourced. Add Soya Garden Lotion to your daily regime – it’s astonishingly light, delicate, and oh-so-subtly fragranced, plus, it includes an active ingredient of New Zealand Manuka honey. And don’t forget your hard-working hands – often forgotten and neglected. As well as restoring essential moisture and insulating skin against dehydration, Soya Garden Hand Cream also helps soften cuticles and beautify nails.
