Kathryn’s debut at New Zealand Fashion Week in 2010 was strictly invite only– a common trait of closed-door fashion week events.
The venue held 1000 guests and spare tickets were as rare as a pair of the original Jimmy Boots!
That event was all about thanking those in the industry who had helped Kathryn reach the fashion week milestone.
2011 is different: it’s all about celebrating the customers who love fashion and want to see and experience fashion week first hand.
Kathryn has followed and embraced the public’s increased awareness of fashion in recent years, and acknowledges the need to embrace the fashion savvy:
“Our customers use style, sophistication and trends to determine their way forward. It’s exciting to be putting on a show for fashion lovers!”
On the night the public will see the debut of the new Kathryn Wilson winter 2012 collection; always a feast for the eyes, models will be live on the raised catwalk while being beamed around the venue on multiple large-format screens.
The 3,000 public guests will be invited to share their experience in their own unique way on Facebook & Twitter during the event.
To cap off the evening there will be a special performance by Kimbra after the show.
Kimbra will be flying in from Australia to perform songs from her debut album VOWS (out August 29th, 2011) especially for Kathryn’s event.
