We've come to expect the unexpected from Karen Walker, who excels at nurturing creative partnerships that are exciting, inspiring and take the viewer somewhere new. In this case, Walker has again collaborated with Advanced Style’s Ari Seth Cohen, who specialises in photographing chic citizens of advanced years, to create a campaign that is focussed on hands and celebrates new additions to Karen Walker Jewellery.
“Hands can be every bit as expressive as faces,” says Walker. “These Magic Hands speak of a life well-lived and they absolutely have their own stories to tell.” The hands in these stunning images belong to two California-based ladies; pianist, fashion designer, yoga fanatic and former star of the Ballets Russes 93 year-old Phyllis Sues, and infamous party girl, stylist, 1960s Broadway hoofer (including half a decade as a Shark in West Side Story) and great-grandmother, 78 year-old Roberta Haze.
The women selected their own pieces of Karen Walker Jewellery for these images including classic arrow rings and filigree bands alongside new pieces from the Galactic collection released in March this year.
