Karen Walker’s latest eyewear collection has just arrived in stores and online and sees the designer exploring her wanderlust to create Lost in Paradise. We couldn’t help but be enchanted by the collection description in which Walker ‘finds herself washed ashore, shipwrecked with her worldly possessions on a tropical atoll. And the first thing to unpack from the steamer trunk? Her new sunglasses. The vital accessory when you find yourself in dangerous straits that require a sense of cool detachment.’ It’s that nonchalant confidence that makes Walker’s brand impossible to resist and her new range certainly gives KW fans a lot to be excited about.
The eyewear features softly tinted lenses which are designed as an ‘intentional barrier to reality’ making your perception of the world rosier. Sometimes a little distance from reality is the best way to proceed and Walker’s fantastical shapes also provide a bit of escapism. This collection is made up of an entirely new set of frame shapes with everything from over-sized frames that are almost comical to vintage-feel styles and refined rimless glasses. All the classic acetates are there with the addition of red glitter which adds to the playfulness of this range. The names also heighten the fantasy with Admiral Boom, Miss Lark, The Bird and The Constable among the new styles joining Walker’s magical world this season.
