Karen Murrell launched her beautiful new lipstick collection Princesses of the Golden Petals this week at a flower-filled event at Pilkingtons in Auckland. The talented beauty maven treated media and guests to a sublime morning that celebrated her luxurious new lipstick collection in style. Prettily decorated beauty counters allowed guests to try the new hues for themselves with makeup artists on hand to help match the perfect shade.
The new gorgeous new collection has been three years in the making and the lipsticks and have a velvety matte finish with the same creamy formulation as the rest of Karen Murrell’s charming range. The products are made from natural ingredients including avocado and evening primrose oils, candelilla, carnauba wax, cinnamon and sweet orange which create nourishing and long-lasting lip colours that are as nice to wear as they are to look at.
Karen Murrell was inspired by Versailles, with it’s luxurious palace ballrooms and winsome royal apparel for this collection but she gave those references a modern twist. The lipsticks are designed with a modern-day Marie Antoinette in mind. A woman who is strong, fierce, independent and beautiful in her own right.
Princesses of the Golden Petals features three divine new colours: Fiery Ruby – a rich red, Bordeaux Rouge – a deep berry and Blushing Rose – a dusky pink. There are also two new metallics in the collection: Haute Bohème – copper and Crown Jewel – gold. These two are Karen’s first foray into metallic colours. “I’ve been dreaming of creating these for a while and am so excited to bring these lipsticks to life. Metallic lip colours are the ultimate in luxury and wearing them makes you feel like the princess you are.”
The new lipsticks feature delightful packaging which adds to the luxurious feel of the products. Karen wanted every aspect of this new collection to convey its royal inspiration. Beautiful packaging details include captivating illustrations of a suite of sultry princesses and inside the newly revamped case is deep burgundy with metallic accents. While the top of each case has a delightfully tactile, raised bloom feature. Adding even more amazingness is the new Karen Murrell lipstick mould which sees Karen’s initials along with a floral design on the tip of the stick, making these lovely lipsticks into delicately pretty works of art.
Princesses of the Golden Petals is available from Karen Murrell stockists nationwide and online from August 1st. Each lipstick is priced at RRP$32 each.
