Jojo Ross recently announced an exciting new project for her eponymous brand titled Jojo Ross 2.0 which the designer thought up during the lockdown period. Like many other fashion designers Jojo has become frustrated with the current fashion system which sees seasonal garments have a short shelf life before they become sales stock and then cleared. It means garments quickly lose relevancy and consumers focus on what the newest thing is all too quickly.
“As a maker, I am incredibly close to each individual garment. Each piece has so much of my hand in it’s creation. My garments put simply, mean a lot to me,” says Jojo Ross. “I hate to see them put away, considered old while brand new and when they still have so much to give.”
Her solution is Jojo Ross 2.0 which is about re-kindling the life of a garment. The designer has re-visited seven styles of ‘old stock’ which have she has cleverly re-imagined into seven new styles. “2.0 is about the love of making and finding new possibilities in existing fashion – an ode to the naive teenage op-shopper I once was, finding and re-creating vintage pieces,” adds Jojo.
The first drop of Jojo Ross 2.0 is available exclusively on the designer’s website and will be continually added to and updated. In a move to make her collections even more accessible Jojo Ross 2.0 is available at wholesale pricing with clothing prices starting at $169.
