In late 2020, Jojo Ross delivered the brand’s first Pillars collection which was designed to offer key pieces that are available exclusively online. By discarding the seasonal fashion model and forgoing wholesaling, Jojo Ross is able to offer the brand’s range at more accessible prices in styles that are timeless yet still directional. Designer Jojo Ross sees the name Pillars as reflective of the key pieces that are the staples in her customer’s wardrobes and the pillars of her brand. Jojo Ross has recently released a new drop for the Pillars collection with winter in mind.
“For our latest drop we have updated many of the Pillars pieces in beautiful winter weights and wools – a notable mention to the divine lilac grey,” says Jojo Ross. “We’ve re-introduced several pieces from the archives (Lobby Pants are back!) and we’ve evolved a number of our best-selling silhouettes to create new styles.”
The new range sees the designer re-imagine the popular Odyssey Dress into an easy to wear Odyssey Tee complete with the beloved softly draped cape. While the raglan sleeved Cloud Sweater that is available in wool viscose bouclé originated from the designer’s Happy Days Hoodie. For this collection Jojo Ross has added a go-to winter layer in the form of the Voyager Bomber, which features the brand’s signature sculpted sleeve seen in several previous styles.
“Last week a friend asked of the inspiration behind this particular range, to which I felt almost guilty in saying “nothing really, just nice clothes”. But the inspiration for Pillars is not prescriptive nor is it the result of a fleeting moment, instead it is a quiet evolution of things that are inherently Jojo Ross,” adds Jojo Ross.
In keeping with the brand’s mindful ethos this drop offers ready-made items alongside made-to-order and pre-order pieces. That means Jojo Ross’ team makes only what is needed and helps the brand understand how customers are responding to new styles. Each piece is carefully crafted in Auckland with made-to-order pieces able to be created quickly to meet demand.
