JAG launch their first freestanding New Zealand location in Christchurch today, with a retail store in Riccarton. The beloved Australian heritage brand has previously launched concessions in David Jones Newmarket and Wellington, and this expansion will offer the full womenswear and menswear collections to Christchurch shoppers. JAG hopes it will be the first of several New Zealand stores as they are also launching a dedicated New Zealand website next month.
The brand was founded in 1972 and has a considered approach to design which is popular with Australians and Kiwis alike. JAG’s signature style of modern simplicity and natural comfort offers collections that answer the need for functional, effortless dressing with a perspective of longevity. JAG has easy, mindful collections that utilise organic and recycled fabrics where possible in pared back hues that work well with any wardrobe. Their garments are relaxed, easy to wear and designed to last.
JAG’s latest collection for High Summer is called ‘Dear Photograph’ and features a subtle colour palette derived from aged and weathered old photographs, with sepia tones of rusts, ochres and mauves. The pieces themselves are playful and relaxed with lots of cottons and linens that are perfect for the warmer weather. The look is no fuss, with simple throw-on styles that feature considered trims and details. JAG knows that customers want to look good in pieces that are also easy to look after and offer wearability season after season.
