The COS x Lea Colombo capsule collection is available for a limited time
Cape Town-born artist and photographer Lea Colombo has made her creative mark around the globe as a photographer, director, and artist. Her bold and saturated style is instantly recognisable, as is her unique perspective on the connections between light, colour, and emotion – all of which come into play in her recent collaboration with London-based fashion brand COS.
It’s a glorious shades-of-psychedelic offering, with her luscious prints splashed across oversized silk-blend maxi dresses, skirts and shirts, t-shirts, and even caps.
The arresting prints are attention-grabbing but invite contemplation and a sense of joy. The prints are created from a flower series of images Colombo created in the darkroom.
“The vibrant and contrasting colours are juxtaposed against the softer floral images, reflecting my constant exploration of duality, tension, and balance,” she says.
“They were produced back home in Cape Town, where my creativity is always awakened by incredible natural beauty. To transfer this onto clothing is a beautiful exchange of energy.”
