Midnight Label specialise in fashion collaborations and their latest Twilight collection is a limited edition range featuring beautiful dresses. The label was founded by Angela Farrelly in 2014, and it's fair to say that fashion is in her blood, her grandmother was a seamstress and had taught her to sew, spending many summers toiling away with old fabric. Whilst Angela was at college she studied art and undertook a fashion design elective during her gap year where her love of fashion began.
Midnight Label is inspired by the story of Cinderella (who never asked for a prince – just a night off and a great dress) and so Angela began thinking about how the story evolves from the fairy godmother arriving and providing Cinderella with a stunning dress and shoes, to the magic of the story which reaches its pinnacle at midnight. Midnight is when the magic happens, the bewitching hour and the perfect name for the label.
The Twilight collection is a collaboration with designer Asya Sadyrova, who is originally from Russia and now living in New Zealand. The range is designed and produced here in New Zealand and works with colours and fabrics that express the strength and femininity of kiwi women. It's a playful, sexy collection that is versatile and easily dressed up or down. The small number of garments means it's a strictly limited edition collection available through Midnight Label's website now.
