Soohee Moon graduated from Otago Polytechnic in 2012 and has once again earned international acclaim, featuring in Vogue Italia for the fourth year in a row. Ms Moon who currently works for New Zealand designer, NomD* has already achieved several milestones in her career including showcasing her designs at the Shanghai Fashion Week in 2012, and contributing towards designing the staff uniform at Toit? Otago Settlers Museum in Dunedin.

Vogue Italia has invited the School of Design to submit their graduates’ top portfolios for the past four years. The Otago Polytechnic Fashion staff nominates ten graduates based on their creative fashion communication portfolios, and Dr Margo Barton tallies the votes.

The School of Design (Fashion) is renowned for producing designers that have gone on to establish successful businesses including Sara Munro from Company of Strangers and Abby van Schreven from Maaike. Graduates have also worked for some of the world’s most famous designers including Tara Viggo at River Island, London, and Shola Steele, former designer at Sisley in Italy.

Dr Barton is confident next year’s invitation will bring the same success. “Looking at the current student work, I’m quite confident we will continue to have success in 2014.”
