Ingrid Starnes recently released the brand’s new Spring/Summer 2019 collection titled ‘Conversations in Summer’. According to designer Ingrid Starnes it’s a ‘collection about the space to say things, independence, interesting women in conversation, and artists Agnes Martin and Francesca Woodman’. Those starting points lead to a range that is subtle and sophisticated with elegant silhouettes and beautiful hues.

The collection itself takes place in an imagined time in conversation; light, warm, nowhere to be. It takes inspiration from the colours, textures and silhouettes spoken by the artists with both their work and the women themselves referenced in the new range. The soft, minimalist hues of the collection are inspired by the subdued colours and serenity of Agnes Martin’s sublime paintings. While photographer Francesca Woodman was the inspiration for the delicate floral prints with Ingrid seeing it as ‘a play on how Woodman would often photograph women in soft fragile floral prints’.

Ingrid Starnes has mastered timeless dressing and her latest range has an elegant modernity while still referencing classic silhouettes and shapes that are flattering and easy to wear. Her favoured wrap dresses, winsome blouses and chic suiting all feature in this collection along with playful flared trousers, sweet mini skirts and ruffle trimmed knits. The designer utilises exclusive signature prints to add a layer of uniqueness and her love of charming florals sees some truly gorgeous prints this season. The designer’s artistic muses add suitably poetic notes to the the range with the conversation transcending time for a simply sublime collection.
