Runway for Refuge will showcase a stunning collection of designer clothing

It’s a full house for the upcoming Runway for Refuge Designer Fashion Show, following massive support from the public and from New Zealand designers. The fundraising event for Taranaki Women’s Refuge is being held on Friday, 22 September at TSB Showplace, New Plymouth.

The first 270 tickets sold out within 30 minutes of ticket sales going live – a combination of VIP corporate tables (a first for this year’s event), Premium, and GA tickets.

The event’s popularity saw organisers release another two rows of tickets, which were also snapped up.

“It’s so amazing to see the community support not only from our guests but also from many local and national businesses getting behind us with donations. The designers involved have also all been so generous. It’s going to be an amazing night!” says event manager Justine Shera of My Balance Project.

Justine leads a committee of volunteers (including Brooke Barrett, Marnie Seywell-Johnson, and Annalee Kemsley) who are dedicated to making this important event happen.

“Supporting positive change in domestic violence in our region is a community-wide task,” she says.

“We are committed to helping Taranaki Women’s Refuge continue to provide essential services for women and their children in Taranaki.”

Runway for Refuge features not only a spectacular catwalk fashion show but also a stunning collection of designer clothing and accessories that will be auctioned off on the runway, with all proceeds going to Taranaki Women’s Refuge.

All items have been donated by the amazing community of New Zealand designers, facilitated by Designer Relationships Manager and fellow designer Brooke Barrett.

Iconic New Zealand brands such as Trelise Cooper, Harris Tapper, Zambesi, Liz Mitchell, Juliette Hogan, Wynn Hamlyn, Lemon Tree, Deadly Ponies, Yu Mei, Meadowlark, and many more have come together to support the fundraising efforts with the goal of raising $40,000.
