Hailwood recently released his new Summer collection full of perfect party outfits and casual looks for the warmer months. Designer Adrian Hailwood excels at beautifully tailored dresses that are draped just so for an alluring effect. Not to mention his sharp eye for strong graphics and tongue-in-chic sense of humour that give his collections a certain joie de vivre.
This season he’s gone for a modern take on 70s and 80s looks that are charming and fresh. Those after the perfect tee can’t go past Hailwood’s brilliant flamingo print and Marilyn Monroe print t shirts in playful pinks and blues. They’re teamed with cropped denim and the designer’s favourite bomber jackets for a wonderful casual look that has an 80s twist but current appeal. There’s a real LA feel to this collection which also comes through in draped one shouldered dresses that are versatile and easy to wear. Then there’s the blush striped pieces with a kimono top, wrap dress and tie front trouser making for sweetly pretty options.
Hailwood is well known for his gorgeous evening wear and this collection features some winsome party dresses in black and gold stripes. Not to mention a fun off the shoulder dress in navy with the subtle metallic flecks adding to the retro-inspired feel. The designer also does custom versions of his beautiful dresses from his Karangahape Road boutique for those who want the perfect dress that fits like a glove.
