Although we can’t access our usual go-to beauty services or purchase many of our favourite beauty products at the moment, some of our favourite beauty brands are still available to purchase in selected pharmacies and supermarkets all over New Zealand, here are some of our go-to brands available for purchase now.
Dermalogica
Dermalogica is one of our favourite global skincare brands. Their products are animal-cruelty free, vegan, paraben-free and have no artificial colours or fragrances. Dermalogica’s multi-award winning products have been designed by skincare experts with no common irritants or chemicals that could cause breakouts, but with the right active ingredients to improve skin health. These products are sold where you can talk to skin experts who can guide you toward what range of products will suit your skin concerns best. Eau Thermale Avène
Eau Thermale Avène is a French skincare brand designed for sensitive skin, with the magic ingredient of water from their thermal spring in Avène, France where they have a hydrotherapy centre, to help treat major skin conditions. Avène has ranges of products developed to target acne-prone skin, dry skin, skin prone to redness, intolerant skin and skin prone to skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. Some of our favourite products include the XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing cream which is really great for very dry hands and their Cicalfate Restorative skin cream for skin conditions like eczema and dermatitis. Glow Lab
Glow Lab is a New Zealand based natural skincare brand. They are animal-cruelty free, free from parabens and other nasties such as silicones, SLS, sulphates and phthalates. Their low-cost range offers skincare, body care and hair care. Some of our favourite products include the Glow Lab Tinted SPF 15 facial moisturiser and the Glow Lab Rosehip Oil. Glow Lab is sold in supermarkets nationwide.
Nivea
Nivea has been 100 years in the making, starting off as a modest, modern skincare cream, with the brand developing into a global giant in the skincare world. Their ranges now include hundreds of face creams, body creams, deodorants, beard care, lip care and sunscreens. With ingredients such as Q10, Hyaluronic acid, Argan oil, Shea butter, Vitamin C and Creatine, just to name a few. Some of our go-to products are any of the reef-safe sunscreen ranges, 3 -in-1 hand repair cream for dry, overwashed hands and Daily Essentials Nourishing Day Cream. Nivea is available in supermarkets nationwide.
Ardell
Ardell’s lash range can get you through until your next lash appointment, whenever that may be. The ranges include layered lashes, individual lashes, wispy lashes, magnetic lashes and faux mink lashes and are available at Unichem and Life Pharmacies.
Melora
This New Zealand beauty brand made with Manuka honey and oil includes products such as body lotions, moisturisers, body wash, face wash, shampoo and conditioner, hand soap, deodorant, toothpaste and mouth wash. The naturally derived antibacterial, antioxidant ingredients in these products will give your family that added protection you need right now, while also being free from parabens, synthetic colours, mineral oils and artificial perfumes. Bondi Sands
Just because you’re stuck at home doesn’t mean you have to forgo your weekly tanning ritual if that’s your thing. Now you can turn your quarantine into a quaran-tan! Bondi Sands is our go-to brand for all of your tanning needs. They have a range of products for gradual tanning, foams, mists, sprays, creams and lotions and are available at Countdown, Unichem and Life Pharmacies.
