ghd hair director and New Zealand Industry Hairdresser of the Year Michael Beel shares how to get the ‘understated effortless glamour’ look that featured on the catwalk at RUBY’s Wellington Fashion Week show in April, and has been seen gracing catwalks around the world.
“For our Wellington Fashion Week Show I wanted a simple, natural look with a touch of shine and texture, to suit the ‘The Dreamers’ youthful and relaxed attitude,” Deanna Didovich, RUBY designer, explains.

The style: Understated effortless glamour
How to get the look:
1. Apply ghd total volume foam throughout the hair
2. Dry in using radial brush in size 3 and the ghd air to create volume and soft movement
3. Using a tail comb place in a soft diffused side part
4. Using the ghd eclipse™ styler, take large sections and define the movement through the mid lengths by twisting the styler 180 degrees away from your face and sliding downward through the hair, making sure ends stay straight
5. Allow the waves to cool, then brush well using the ghd oval dressing brush and spray with hairspray
