The joyful new Winter collection from hej hej has started arriving in stores and online with the first drop offering a charming boost of colour. Titled Let’s Go Outside, hej hej’s latest range offers cosy knits in delightful tones of periwinkle, sage and cobalt which effortlessly integrate with the brand’s signature pieces from previous collections.
Designers Alice Isles and Kiki Judd have created a cohesive new offering with seven well thought out pieces in this first release. Among the new pieces is a mohair wool-blend cardigan in deep indigo which complements hej hej’s best-selling styles the Knitty Gritty Polo and Mellow Puff Knit, that have been reimagined for the season in a gorgeous periwinkle purple mohair wool fabrication.
Suitably soft in a silk and cashmere blend, the sage green Checkmate Knit Polo and Skirt are standout styles for the season – they co-ordinate beautifully and are easily styled with the rest of the collection. This season sees hej hej utilise a 55 percent kid mohair and 45 percent spun silk blend which results in a semi-sheer fabrication which is great for the Creature Comfort Knit in electric cobalt blue. The brand’s popular beanies also return in periwinkle and sweetpea green.
On July 7th, hej hej will launch drop two which includes trans-seasonal linen pieces in jade green and indigo blue that are designed to be worn with your favourite knitwear. The brand collaborated with fellow Kiwi Amber Rixon of Still Life to create the hero Liberty-inspired floral print, which pulls in green and purple tones featured in the first drop which adds versatility to the range. Amber creates her patterns through both hand drawing and painting and has previously developed prints for the likes of J.Crew, Saint Holiday and Teva. The resulting floral print has been utilised for hej hej’s mini Bright Side Dress and midi Long Puff Sleeve Dress. The collection is rounded out by more dresses and the perfect linen pants which hej hej have mastered over the previous few seasons.
To accompany the range, hej hej worked with Karen Inderbitzen-Waller, who cleverly styled the creative campaign shoot that features a cut-out backdrop. The campaign beautifully embodies the playful spirit of the brand and the effortless appeal of hej hej’s winter collection. Now is the perfect time to update your winter wardrobe with some wonderful knitwear.
