New Zealand has a beautiful new sleepwear brand with the recent launch of by Natalie, founded by Natalie Norman. The brand’s debut collection features super soft pieces in classic shapes that are designed to make women feel sultry and attractive, while still being comfortable. Alongside the sleepwear is a a range of pillows and pillow toppers for the ultimate night’s sleep.
Natalie has been in the business of sleep her entire career as it’s her family’s business and after many years of learning what makes a good night’s sleep she launched her first business, Growbright, which makes sleep products and mattresses for babies. Her new business by Natalie is a natural extension of her experience in the sleep industry and allows her to unify two categories – sleep products and sleepwear, in an easy way.
“By Natalie sleepwear is what I wanted to see in the market,” says Natalie Norman. “Being a mother of two in my thirties, I was finding myself is plaid knit PJs or little night dresses. I either felt unsexy or self-conscious (sometimes both!), especially if someone outside of my immediate family was around. For me, I wanted to bring the elegance back into the bedroom and make women feel sexy while still feeling comfortable enough to go about their day-to-day activities”
The elegant sleepwear utilises Tencel as it’s hero fabric, which is produced using extracts from eucalyptus trees. Tencel is very gentle on the skin and is the perfect breathable, comfortable fabric for getting a good night’s rest. Every piece has a classic silhouette that suits every body shape with a range of pyjama sets and nighties in the brand’s first range. The sophisticated full length night gowns will make any woman feel like a goddess and they’re available in suitably soft hues of pink, ivory and grey.
It was important to Natalie that sustainability be at the heart of by Natalie and that comes through in her use of Tencel which is an innovative, sustainable fibre that can be traced back to its source. Her sleepwear is proudly manufactured in New Zealand which was also important to Natalie, having grown up in the manufacturing industry here.
Alongside the sleepwear are by Natalie’s pillows and pillow toppers that offer a truly comfortable night’s sleep. Natalie brought her years of experience at the forefront of the sleep industry to designing three innovative pillows and two pillow toppers which are also created with sustainability in mind.
“Every aspect of our pillow range is carefully considered,” adds Natalie. “Our ethos was to offer a range for all sleepers, we all sleep differently, and our pillow requirements are bespoke. Our range’s width and customisation capabilities reflect this. We also wanted to be environmentally conscious; the fibres in our pillows are created from old plastic bottles that would otherwise end up in a landfill. Where possible, the foam we use all comes from offcuts that would otherwise be discarded. I’m also pretty proud of the fact that the pillows are all made in New Zealand.”
