Think trippy florals, dopamine checks, and dazed and confused suits. Embrace silhouettes designed for freedom to explore and discover. Indulge your truest desires for colour palettes that inject a burst of happiness.

In keeping with their constant desire to look ahead, twenty-seven names’ founders and designers Rachel Easting and Anjali Burnett have filled their new collection with pieces to brighten spirits like a bouquet of fresh flowers.

Fun Fact: The label twenty-seven names is a homage to the list of 27 people who helped get the New Zealand label off the ground.

What were the main inspirations behind Truly, Madly, Sleepy?

Honestly, we felt like 2022 was trying to play us a little so wanted to push back the only way we know how to in design — with niche references. Our suit of the season, for example, is inspired by our attempts to sing Seal & Crofts’ ’Summer Breeze’ at karaoke. We decided that naming the set (Summer Breeze Jacket & Jasmine Mini) after the track would make a far better tribute.

Is there a piece in the collection or a fabric/silhouette that is particularly special?

On our quest to make the perfect blouse, we’ve created the Feelings blouse. It then becomes almost cosmic in its taffy silk iteration of the Utopia Blouse.

What’s something you’d love everyone to know about this Truly, Madly, Sleeply collection?

This collection is a breath of fresh air. We want all the garments to have that special-something feel when we saw them on.
