French 83 on the runway at New Zealand Fashion Week 2016
French 83’s designer Nicole Wesselling presented a diverse collection of menswear pieces for AW16 and SS17. The colour palette was neutral, with the focus instead being on crisp, sharp tailored looks that can be worn dressed up or down. From the tailored suits through to the cropped jackets, there was something for everyone. In fact, some of the pieces definitely felt like they’d appeal to the ladies as well.
The Lost Explorer collection showcased tailored pieces that will see you through the workday and into the weekend. French 83 pride themselves on their pieces which blend functionality and timelessness and in no place was this better reflected than these offerings for Autumn and Winter. You have your signature men’s suit with the tapered leg and cropped jackets. The bomber makes an appearance in a forest green and black colour way. We love the George shirt with its dip-dyed feel and the Himalaya Bomber.
The Oliver White collection for Spring-Summer collection brought the prints to the forefront with a jacquard print stealing the show. Bombers made a reappearance, this time in pastel blue as well as darker tones. Shorts were paired with blazers for a polished, take on a classic Summer look. We loved the cut-out sandals one of the dapper male models sported. Fingers crossed there’s a version of this shoe for the ladies as well. Hint hint, Merchant 1948.
Beauty Notes: Clean and polished looks.
Hot Item: That jacquard print jacket and trouser combo. So good!
