Commercial Bay is set to transform Auckland’s waterfront with an exciting new complex that will be a stunning retail space with some top fashion tenants. Among the first brands to be announced are locals Superette and Rodd & Gunn (who will be creating a bespoke Lodge Bar), alongside international brands, Hershel Supply Co from Canada and luxury accessory brand Furla from Italy. Both Hershel and Furla are making their first foray into stand-alone stores in the New Zealand market.
“This announcement provides a snapshot of the brands and retail mix coming to Commercial Bay” says Michael Sweetman, Precinct Properties (owner of Commercial Bay) lead fashion partnership manager. “Commercial Bay will deliver a mix of fashion, food and beauty, including more European first-to-market brands like those we have announced today, as well as a mix of the best of New Zealand boutiques. It will be home to transitional luxury through to fast fashion.”
Commercial Bay is set to be a magnet for retailers wanting to get in on this exciting new project that will see the waterfront become a mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly space that better utilises its scenic location. The new development will comprise of 100 retailers with around 30 percent for major retailers, 45 percent for specialty retail and 25 percent for food and beverage. Currently, 60% of the space has been committed to already with an opening set for 2019.
