A chilly, but sunny Auckland day provided the perfect backdrop for OPSM and Sunglass Hut to showcase eyewear trends for Spring/Summer 2014.
Guests enjoyed the splendour of Mantells on the Water, sipping bubbles and trying on new season frames while making a mental wish-list of course.
Many would agree that eyewear has definitely forged its way up in the fashion stakes.
Whether you’re opting for a knock-out pair of sunglasses to complete a look or to make a bold fashion statement, eyewear is a vital accessory.
So, what were our favourite trends for next season?
Florals
Left top: Dolce & Gabbana Almond Flowers collection, $1360 Right top: Dolce & Gabbana Mosaico collection $1290
Bottom left: Emporio Armani, $420 Bottom right: Dolce & Gabbana Almond Flowers collection, $430
Firstly, floral, we just love, love, love all things floral. We saw this detail in the Dolce & Gabbana Mosaico collection, with intricate, hand-crafted detailed tiles encased in the arms.
The floral embellishment of the Dolce & Gabbana Almond Flowers collection also caught our eye and the simple femininity of the Emporio Armani frames has a wow factor all of their own.
It’s a bling-thing
Miu Miu $665
Like the florals, there was a level of bling to suit everyone. We loved these Miu Miu frames, showcasing a subtle hint of sparkle but if you wanted to turn heads, then we think the Prada Voice collection is absolutely perfect.
Prada Voice collection, $680
Texture
Ray-Ban Erika, $205
Who said sunglasses were only made from plastic. Not Ray-Ban, that’s for sure. We just fell in love with the Ray-Ban Erika – colourful, with tonal mirrored lenses and velvet frames, Erika just screams summer and has a little fun doing it!
Ray-Ban leather covered Wayfarer, $475
However if it is classics you prefer, then we think that with these Ray-Ban leather covered Wayfarers – iconic frames with a twist – you can’t go wrong!
