Everything you need to know about the Kim K-coded Salmon Sperm Facial

When I first heard about the Salmon DNA treatment, I’ll admit I was intrigued.

By Mia Smith

South Korean beauty innovations are known for pushing the boundaries of skincare, and this one, involving salmon sperm DNA, was no exception. After seeing celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Aniston praise it and its viral fame on TikTok, I knew I had to give it a try.

The Science Behind It: Salmon DNA for Rejuvenation

Before diving into my experience, let’s talk about what this treatment actually is. Kaiz Skin and Body has brought this treatment to New Zealand for the first time, and it promises some pretty remarkable results. The DNA extracted from salmon sperm is packed with polynucleotides, which help to improve skin elasticity, promote collagen production, and increase hyaluronic acid levels. It’s said to address everything from fine lines and wrinkles to acne scars and sun damage. The idea is to trigger the skin’s regenerative abilities, making it more of a quality-enhancing treatment than just your standard filler or laser.

TRIGGER WARNING – BLOOD

The Procedure

When I arrived at Kaiz Skin and Body, I was immediately impressed by how professional, friendly and relaxing the environment was. After a brief consultation to make sure the treatment was right for me and how to utilise it best to suit my skin type, along with a lovely welcome tea, we moved forward with the procedure.

We started by leaving the numbing cream on for 30 minutes whilst chatting away before beginning the injections.

The injections themselves were quick and minimally invasive—honestly, far less painful than I expected. I could feel slight pressure as the polynucleotides were injected into various points on my face, but it was over in less than 30 minutes and I was guided the whole way with what was up next so I knew what to expect.

Although there was a bit of blood, sweat (but no tears!) along the way, they do say if it hurts it must be working! Right?

It was over before I knew it and was wrapped up nicely with a cooling mask and post treatment anti-bruising and healing cream.

There was no downtime afterward, so I was able to walk out of the clinic and carry on with my day, with only a little redness and minor swelling that faded by the following morning.

The Results:

Now, the part I was most excited about—the results! I was told that visible changes would start appearing within a few weeks and even more on a long term scale, but even within a few days, I could already see improvements. My skin felt firmer and smoother to the touch, and there was a

noticeable glow that hadn’t been there before. I’m excited to see the promised increase in glow in my complexion over the next coming weeks.

What I loved most about this treatment was how natural it felt. Unlike some fillers or treatments that change the shape of your face, this was all about enhancing the quality of my skin. It’s truly about making your skin the best version of itself rather than altering it.

Who Should Try This?

I would recommend the Salmon DNA treatment to anyone looking for a non-invasive way to rejuvenate their skin. Whether you’re in your 20s and want to address early signs of ageing, or you’re dealing with more advanced concerns like wrinkles or acne scars, this could be the perfect solution. It’s especially great if you’re looking for an alternative to fillers or want to improve your skin’s texture and elasticity without downtime.

Having tried this for myself, I can understand why it’s such a viral sensation. The combination of minimal downtime and a treatment that feels focused on long-term skin health makes it worth every penny. Being in my early 20s I’m all for prevention and making my skin the best it can be as naturally as possible. If you’re looking to try something new and innovative, I highly recommend booking a session at Kaiz Skin and Body.
