Workshop + Helen Cherry @ The Marr Factory 2013

Last night I returned to Golden Dawn for the Marr Factory series, this time for Workshop/Helen Cherry’s Summer 13/14 Showcase. Courvoisier punch was flowing again, as well as delicious canapés that were so instagram-able!

Golden Dawn literally rolled out the red carpet for this event, with the runway a red carpet fitting of the collections that walked down it.

Helen Cherry was first up, and the collection prompted me to think of a fun girl who works hard and is impeccably dressed, but also has the perfect work-life balance – something I aspire to achieve one day! She’s the coolest girl at all the parties, her natural beauty seems completely effortless, and she looked right at home on the red carpet runway tonight in her pointed pumps!

The fun yet chic prints such as the python, the ming blue, and – my personal favourite – the citrine, provide a beautiful way to inject some colour into your wardrobe as spring approaches next week!

The collection is easily identifiable as Helen Cherry – the unique prints paired with classic cut tailoring, fresh colours, and understated glamour.

Also easily identifiable was the change from WORKSHOP to Helen Cherry with their Summer 13/14 collection – tattoos drawn on by the team at Two Hands Tattoo were combined with leather looks, skull prints and for one male model – a pair of pants and six-pack abs which the crowd loved! The collection pushed boundaries and both the men’s and women’s wear and was just ‘cool’.

I loved the hair and make-up as much as I loved the show itself, with Stephen Marr’s take on the effortless low ponytail combined with the fresh face and bold ‘Morange’ lip by M.A.C.

The styling set the wicked atmosphere for the night, with everybody having fun, bopping along to the music, and soaking up that effortless cool vibe the models were exuding.

Unfortunately I won’t be at the final night of the Marr Factory series, but Kate Sylvester is tonight and will be a show not to be missed! Make sure to grab your tickets from iTicket before it’s too late!
