The theme was, Excellence and having lots of uniformed Olympic medallists sure added to the New Zealand Fashion Week opening party's star power! Dame Pieter Stewart spoke with her usual poise and an uplifting confidence, followed by Mayor Len Brown. Veteran of all 12 New Zealand Fashion Weeks, Trelise Cooper declared the event open.

Guest enjoyed Kim Crawford wines and canapes by Mint Kitchen, and as FashioNZ's trusty team were racing home to file, Mika was entertaining those who clearly intended to enjoy the evening to the full.
