On a mission to provide modern women with sustainable garments destined to be a lifetime wardrobe staple, Mina’s New Zealand Fashion Week 2019 presentation carried forward the label’s timeless aesthetic with fabulous fresh colours and styles. Showcased over breakfast in a runway where the models carried wholesome dishes to the attendees table, it was wholesomely intimate.

The collection consisted of a colour palette of neutrals, cool tones and earthy hues. This injected all of the minimalist pieces in this solid-coloured collection with all the decoration they needed. Not to mention, these fabulous colours lended themselves to a plethora of seasonal outfits – perfectly aligning to Mina’s goal of creating clothes that transcend seasons.

A series of loose, slash-necked tops draped gracefully over the side of model’s shoulders, or stayed put to reveal a beautiful bateau neckline. The colours were modern and fresh, in tones of cream, seafoam and a blue-heavy perriwinkle. High waisted skirts and trousers were paired with these pieces, which when tucked in or left out also showcased their styling versatility.

A range of outerwear became the centerpiece of this collection, where beautiful jackets and coats were dotted through the line. We saw a long beige-grey button-down trench coat fastened with a long, wide waist sash as well as some more straight-cut pieces, like a stunning floor-length collared coat in both charcoal and a rich maroon. Two covetable blazers also made the outwear edit in this collection too; a crisp, single-buttoned blazer with matching pants in both grey and a dainty monochrome checker weave.

Not to be missed in the mentions of items that made this collection a modern woman’s dream come true are the range beautiful dresses. Each and every frock was sleek and graceful, from a pinafore-esque midi sundress, through to a periwinkle boat-neck with ballooning sleeves, right through to a delectably striped v-neck, cross-front belted maxi dress. Another piece that we (and we’re presuming, each of the attendees) fell completely head over heels for was a terracotta jumpsuit. Looking like a chicer rendition of a 1970’s it-girl’s favourite evening wear, this jumpsuit was simply stunning with it’s twisted halter neck and buckled waist sash.

Each and every piece in the collection boasting an unparalleled and excellent level of craftsmanship. Paired with this season’s graceful designs, this resulted in a sleek collection of absolute essentials for women wanting avant-garde yet timeless wardrobe staples.

Hot item: A terracotta jumpsuit with a twisted neck and buckled waist tie, as well as a simple, single-buttoned blazer in both black and grey.
