Workshop and Helen Cherry showcased their Winter 2013 collections on Auckland’s Vulcan Lane last week.
WORKSHOP’s collection reflects the spirit of the brand featuring premium quality fabrics and subtle utilitarian detailing.
The collection has a quietly rebellious streak; the leather trim tuxedo jean and jacket in 9.5oz black stretch offer a tailored yet sexy take on denim, the scar stitch foam dye tee in washed-back gun-metal and indigo, a subtle nod to rock and roll.
Denim forms the core and luxuriously soft baby cord skinny jean and tab front skirt in complements must-have merino and angora knitwear in acid hues of tangerine, sky blue and fuchsia.
Helen Cherry Winter 13 collection imbues subtle sex appeal, signature floral prints with her hallmark elegant tailoring.
Exclusive floral silks take centre stage while the whimsical wonderland print with navy ribbon trim gives this season’s classic shirt and tapered silk pant a sporty sophistication.
Dresses are fresh and fun with keyhole necklines, gently puffed shoulders and tiered skirts, resplendent in a graphic tangerine and ruby-red poppy print.
A Helen Cherry signature piece, the pussycat bow blouse, is updated in painterly mint silk georgette paired with a wool-silk flared skirt and sharply tailored jacket for a flirtatious take on classic tweed.
Also on the runway were the stable of international designers available such as Alexander Wang, Isabel Marant, Acne, Vanessa Bruno, See by Chloe and Marc by Marc Jacobs.
