Kathryn you’ve done it again! Celebrating 15 years of business this year no wonder this show was an epic standout. She’s got so much worth celebrating.

The NZFW 2018 show saw a stellar mix of Spring/Summer 18 and a sprinkling of Autumn/Winter 19 strutting down the runway.

The show opened with a short video featuring a beautiful model dancing in her adorable marching band outfit to an upbeat version of the Cinderella song ‘Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo’. I loved it and it really set the stage for the cuteness overload that was to follow.

First up was a marching band dressed in full white costumes drumming away to the beat of Destiny’s Child ‘Lose my Breath’ (banger). This was followed by the sassy yet adorable models. Dazzling the crowd with red sequinned marching band costumes the ladies strutted down the catwalk to tunes from Gwen Stefani, Destiny’s Child and Kelis and I couldn’t get enough. I was toe-tapping the whole time just wanting to get up and dance down the catwalk.

I witnessed the most gorgeous pointed toe and sling back heels, ankle boots and stylish sneakers. How cool was it seeing so many different styles of shoes from statement pieces with sparkles and studs to printed mules I could wear to the office.

There was a specific pair of striped thick heeled beauties that caught my eye and knew as soon as I saw them that they would be in my overgrowing collection. I’m all for Summer beachwear glamour! Another thing I loved? All the leopard print… especially the leopard print and black leather ankle boots. One gorgeous style would come out followed by the same style in another amazing fabric and I could feel my wallet buzzing with excitement. There really is something for everyone which I think is so important.

Kathryn’s beautiful personality really shone through in these shoes and I loved seeing how much fun the models were having dancing and smiling their way down the catwalk.

It’s safe to say that I’ll be popping into the Britomart KW store quicker than you can say SEQUINS. Also, can we all just have one of those amazing red marching band costumes please?

Beauty notes: Kathryn Wilson’s hair team was run by multi-award winning hairdresser of the year Danny Pato from D&M hair. This 1960’s inspired look saw the models sporting super curly, half up-half down hairdos with curls cascading out the top for a playful and sexy look. The makeup team was lead by Liz Hyun from M.A.C Cosmetics and saw a matching retro look with a classic cat eye and natural, brassy tones on the eyelids and white tones in the corners of the eye, the cheekbones were highlighted and the look was finished with a classic matte red lip.

Music: An all-female power soundtrack featuring the likes of Gwen Stefani, Beyonce, Kelis, J Lo and Destinys Child.

Hot item: That gorgeous pink/green/orange print on the boots and heels. What an amazing statement piece. Another pair that caught my eye were a bright red pair of cowboy style boots. Perfect for adding a Western touch to any outfit. There were so many gorgeous shoes!
