Established fashion designers as well as up and coming labels have sped to the opportunity to show their designs on bicycles. Shed 10 on Auckland’s Queens Wharf (Party central for the RWC) will host Cycle Style on Sunday 25 March.
From noon until 5pm, five different fashion shows will be presented on the latest urban bicycles that are designed for everyday riding in style.
“We are really excited that Hannah-Lee Jade has just confirmed her show for Cycle Style. She is a young designer who is gaining a reputation for her bright, crisp, and angular clothes.
She joins more established NZ designers, Starfish, Dalston and We’Ar who have all been selected for their commitment to NZ- made design using sustainably sourced fabrics” says fashion coordinator Cleo Barnett. Cycle Style will also include a specially produced retro show from K' Road's vintage stores and a finale show that showcases the day’s favourites.
“Shed 10 has the atmosphere and personality for this show” says event manager Craig Neilson. “Shed 10 is classic and customised, worn-in but still feeling new. Our models, the bikes and the clothes will really shine this Sunday.”
As well as five distinct fashion shows starting from noon, Cycle Style will include a performance from the Velociteers, NZ’s only synchronised cycling performance group and a sports demonstration from a group that plays polo by bike. Cycle Style will end with a finale of show highlights at 4:30pm.
