Her Apparel
Lingerie and sleepwear don’t often make an appearance on the New Zealand Fashion Week runway so it was great to see lingerie label Her Apparel and sleepwear label Willa & Mae make their NZFW debuts today.
First up was Her Apparel who presented a series of sheer lacy looks with a romantic appeal. Delicate bras and camisoles were paired with various styles of knickers ranging from high-waisted to skimpier cheeky styles. While white was the predominant colour on the runway, vibrant raspberry and lemon also featured which felt fresh and pretty. Sportier looks were accompanied by cute skateboards carried by the models which added a streetwear edge. The finale featured the models walk hand in hand in pairs down the runway which was a sweet touch to wrap up a lovely collection.
Willa & Mae
Sleepwear label Willa & Mae launched in December 2014 but are already adding a diffusion line Mae by Willa & Mae which features cotton pyjama styles. The collection was styled with a sexy edge by Jane Mow with the semi-sheer tops done up at the collar but mostly up-buttoned below the bust to reveal shorts and high-waisted knickers. Stay-up stockings and black Doc Marten boots added some cool girl appeal to the collection. French blue, white and black made for a crisp colour palette and have a timeless appeal.
Willa & Mae presented their beautiful silk range of robes and sleepwear styles next, each styled with complementing scarves around the model’s necks. Utilising a similar colour palette to their previous offering but this time including a gorgeous peach, they showed a range of elegantly tailored pyjamas, robes and nighties in flattering cuts. Their emphasis is on creating luxurious pieces that are still very wearable and it’s no doubt that their fans will love their latest collection next season.
