Blak’s Autumn Winter 2013 collection titled ‘The Black Rose’ gives a good show! It was prim yet edgy, soft and hard, and light meets dark – incorporating lambskin leathers and lace, sheer layers, and large floral printed silks with secret skulls hidden amongst the blooms.
Silhouettes are classic and girlish yet seriously modern. The simple shift is transformed with layered frilled sleeves, cut out sides, slits in shoulder lines and coloured lace over block black slips. A striking cobalt, black, and cream colour palette was also complemented by garments in burgundy, aubergine, blood red and daubed leopard. Beautifully embellished collars provided finishing touches to buttoned up soft blouses. Other stand and out pieces included a monochromatic jumpsuit and metal knit tunic.
Many covetable pieces in a collection that was very well received.
