Andrea Moore NZFW 2014 Review

Talented local singer/songwriter Ginny Blackmore opened Andrea Moore’s show today with a stunning live performance that had the audience spellbound.  She was of course clad in the designer’s new collection entitled ‘Wink Wink’ which was just as brilliant.

Taking a surrealist trip into Winter 2015, Andrea Moore, showed a range that was impeccably tailored with pops of bold colour and delightful signature prints. Fans of the label’s slick suiting will be pleased with the amount of well-structured pieces and wearability the collection provides.

Boxy wool coats rubbed shoulders with feminine dresses and leather leggings creating a look that was modern and directional. Mixtures of prints from florals to checks made for a great contrast whilst cobalt, fuchsia, scarlet and emerald provided strong colourful looks.

The addition of Andrea Moore’s chic sunglasses and new jewellery collection full of quirky silver pieces were a great styling choice. Subtle floral embellishments on a beautiful wool coat and separates added a luxurious feel and the masculine tailoring on some pieces created a contemporary edge.

Throughout the show a projection of the live runway was screened on the backdrop behind the models, heightening the surrealist feel the designer was aiming for.

It was definitely a confident and clever collection from a much loved label with many covetable pieces for her many fans to embrace for the coming season.

After the main collection, I AM, a diffusion brand led by emerging designer Jacenta Kwan hit the runway with a young, fun range of cool preppy pieces. The look was vibrant, fresh and upbeat with a cute collegiate sweater, sweet pea coat and lovely maxi print dress among the key pieces. It was great to see Andrea Moore reaching out to a younger audience and no doubt the collection will find success next winter.
