Duffle&Co are the first New Zealand brand to partner with innovative platform AirRobe with the aim of offering a solution to fashion waste. The clever idea merges tech and e-commerce allowing customers to build a Circular Wardrobe, extend the life of their purchases and earn money.
“Being Founding Partners of AirRobe means we can offer New Zealanders a real incentive to purchase mindfully,” says Emily Long, COO of Duffle&Co. “We’ve been looking for a solution to make our business model circular, so integrating this tech to Duffle&Co just makes sense. It’s good for the planet and good for your purse!”
The process is simple and managed online, when a customer visit’s Duffle&Co’s website and makes a purchase they click “Add to my Circular Wardrobe” in their cart. Upon purchase confirmation, the customer is then directed to finalise their profile account on AirRobe’s website. AirRobe sends out a confirmation email with a link to the customer’s Circular Wardrobe, with all the product information saved. The customer can then rent or resell their items when they are ready, with one click.
“I believe that we can work together to build new value into a troubled fashion industry,” says Hannon Comazzetto, Founder of AirRobe. “One that focuses on reusing, recycling, and re-selling fashion to create a circular re-commerce system. The solution is simple. With one platform the fashion industry, designers, and shoppers can work together as a community to create a new economy.”
AirRobe has unsurprisingly been dubbed the AirBnB of fashion but it’s circular approach to fashion is definitely the way of the future and a number of international brands have signed onto the platform along with a growing number of users. AirRobe helps users buy, sell and rent preloved fashion so that they can access better deals and also keep fashion out of landfill for longer.
For Duffle&Co, their launch on AirRobe coincides with their new release, ‘Autumn Garden – The Beginning’ which is available for pre-order online. The new pieces are inspired by the warm tones of the changing season, and the first new release is The Zahra Crossbody ($269) that comes in vintage tan. Each piece from Duffle&Co’s range is hand-signed by the person that made it, and each purchase also plants five mangrove trees making for fashion that is good for people and the planet.
