Wellington based accessories brand Duffle&Co recently achieved Climate Positive accreditation through EKOS and are only the second New Zealand brand to do so. What it means is that they have transparently proved that they have measured and offset 120% of their carbon footprint for their entire business operations for the 2018 financial year. Duffle&Co take their commitment to ethical and sustainable business seriously with the brand considering everything from buying materials to typing on laptops when it came to calculating every emission their business created. The brand then took action to reduce, reverse then offset those emissions, they were later analysed and recognised with EKOS certified carbon credits.

“We feel uneasy about our future, particularly when it comes to the depletion of natural resources,” says Danny Pritchard, co-founder of Duffle&Co. “With this certification we want to show that it IS possible to use a business model to create positive environmental and social change. We hope that other business and consumers alike will feel inspired and also make actionable changes to reduce their footprint on the planet.”

Duffle&Co was founded in 2015 and is driven by its sustainable and ethical values while creating bags and tees that are functional and stylish. They’re committed to using the best innovative natural and recycled materials such as organic bamboo, hemp and pineapple leather. Duffle&Co have also removed plastic from their entire business chain, and they are currently exploring using recycled plastic bottles as a fabric.
