Dr. Martens are making their mark with a second New Zealand store opening on Cuba Street this Saturday 19th December. The brand has established itself globally as distinctive in style and authenticity – a suitable match for Wellington’s creative scene.

The brand was founded in 1947 and has since offered up signature footwear with chunky heels and unapologetic designs to match.

“Dr. Martens creates distinctive footwear built and adopted by generations of rebellious individuals not afraid to stand out from the crowd,” says Group General Manager Ben Hapgood. “The brand has come a long way; from modest work-wear boots to one of the most culturally relevant brands of the modern era.”

Dr. Martens offer a range of Originals, Made in England, full vegan ranges, global collaborations, and accessories collections. The fundamental design is renowned for its comfort, durability, and is instantly recognisable, making Dr. Martens a go-to for festival season. The new Cuba Street store will boast the largest range of men’s, women’s, and kid’s styles available in New Zealand.

To commemorate the store’s opening, Dr. Martens have collaborated with Cuba Street Tattoo to give customers a free permanent tattoo with every purchase made on Saturday 19th. Their artwork can be seen in-store, with the Cuba Street Tattoo team creating behind-the-counter pieces.

As a brand championed through music, now located in the creative capital, it comes as no surprise that local artist Crystal will also perform at the store opening from 1pm.

Dr Martens’ new store can be found at Shop 2, 94-106 Cuba St Mall, Te Aro, Wellington.
