Dove Hospice will open a new flagship shop at 255 Broadway in Newmarket on Saturday 10th April, which will also serve as a donation drop off point. It’s Dove Hospice’s 8th store in Eastern and Central Auckland and is positioned in one of Auckland’s busiest shopping districts.
“We’re really proud to be expanding our retail footprint at this time. Establishing a presence in Newmarket has been on our radar for a number of years and our new shop located at 255 Broadway immediately adjacent to the Westfield Shopping Centre was an opportunity too good to miss,” says Dove Hospice Executive Director, Simon Jones.
“We offer quality, affordable and sustainable pre-loved products in vibrant, attractively presented shops. The sale of these pre-loved products helps fund the rapidly growing demand for our hospice services all of which are provided without charge. This gives our customers the ability to consciously shop with purpose.”
Dove Hospice is continually pursuing creative ways to upcycle pre-loved items enabling them to be new treasures. Key to the success of Dove Hospice’s retail and clinical operations is their their large community of dedicated and passionate product donors and volunteers who sustain the organisation’s operations.
The Bourke Street entrance at the rear of the store will offer a convenient donation drop off area for anyone looking to donate quality, pre-loved products to Dove Hospice. The proceeds of which help the organisation deliver a unique, holistic model of care that supports people from the point of diagnosis of a life-threatening illness through to recovery or end of life. Dove Hospice also support the whanau of those receiving hospice care. As Dove Hospice doesn’t receive direct government funding they rely almost exclusively on the support of their retail customers, product donors, volunteers, and bequests.
“Currently we provide over 5,000 holistic treatments each year for individuals in need, as well as supporting their families. We expect the demand for both our outpatient and inpatient services to grow by 30% over the next three years. Adding a successful Newmarket Shop is a key part of funding this increase in demand,” adds Simon Jones. “We are very excited about the future for Dove Hospice and invite you to join our community, support our cause and shop with purpose.”
