For the third consecutive year Sealy is partnering with some of New Zealand’s leading creative talents to produce bespoke designs for luxurious Sealy Posturepedic Exquisite beds to be auctioned for charity.

The works of art, created by Steve Dunstan, Flox, Owen Dippie and LeeAnn Yare, are being transformed into designer beds which will go under the hammer on Trade Me from October 5.

Last year, the Sealy Designer Beds auctions raised tens of thousands of dollars for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation (NZBCF) for breast cancer research.

A graffiti artist with a fine art degree, Flox first made her mark transforming grey inner-city Auckland walls with her trademark native birds, ferns and flowers. This approach is carried through to her bed design.

Steve Dunstan, as co-founder and director of brand at clothing company Huffer, brings a very street-fashion approach is his bed creation.

Owen Dippie is an internationally-recognised artist who “explores the universal language of art and endeavours to leave his mark on the world, rather than just exist in it”. This philosophy is translated with his designer bed.

Magazine writer, stylist and TV presenter LeeAnn Yare owns interior store Collected and returns from last year’s charity drive having successfully claimed top prize for gaining the most support at the 2014 Trade Me auction. This year she has another stand-out, colourful creation.

Sealy is a Gold Level partner of the NZBFC. Company marketing manager Jenni Gaze says Sealy is delighted to collaborate with such an outstanding group of artists.

“We are extremely excited to have such talented ambassadors working with us, all of whom are donating their time and creativity to the breast cancer cause. We are anticipating the bespoke beds created for our 2015 auction will be extremely popular.

“We are looking forward to the auction and hoping to raise as much funds as possible for breast cancer awareness month in October.”

Sealy is continuing its charity involvement with the programme by pledging a minimum of $25,000 to the NZBCF from the auction.

The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation is a not-for-profit charitable trust and the country’s foremost breast cancer education and awareness organisation. It promotes awareness of breast cancer, provides information and education and raises funds to support breast cancer-related initiatives.
