The highly anticipated designer list for New Zealand Fashion Week 2018 (NZFW) is out today with an exciting mix of established and emerging brands set to take to the runway. The event is celebrating its 18th consecutive year with more designers to be announced in coming weeks. ANZ Viaduct Events Centre will host NZFW again with thousands of fashion fans expected to enjoy the event from August 27th to September 2nd.

NZFW has always placed importance on supporting designers at every stage of their careers and encourages them to utilise the  platform to engage with buyers, media and the public. This year sees NZ fashion leaders Huffer, Kathryn Wilson, Trelise Cooper, Hailwood, Twenty-seven Names, Stolen Girlfriends Club and Mercedes-Benz Presents designer Knuefermann showcase their collections as well as new graduates and emerging designers in the New Generation and Emerging Couture shows. Trelise Cooper returns to the NZFW runway after a four year hiatus from the main schedule and her event is sure to be a show-stopper.

The Contemporary Salon shows support designers who are still at the early stages of their career, but established enough to show solo. This year sees three designers, Jarrad Godman, Ryan Turner and Not For You presenting solo shows for the first time under the Contemporary Salon umbrella.

Gaining traction overseas is Georgia Alice and Meadowlark who will each be presenting smaller, highly curated off-site events this year that will no doubt create a buzz.

This year’s impressive line up has also meant a high calibre of international delegates attending NZFW 2018. Building on previous years a strong representation of Australian buyers and media will be here along with media and buyers from Hong Kong and China.

NZFW has evolved again to meet the needs of designers with a new adaptable presentation space called The Studio allowing brands to use it more creatively for runway, installations or seminars. That’s where we’re hosting our NZFW seminar on the future of fashion. The purpose-built Trade Space returns again this year which allows designers to meet with buyers on-site and make the most of the NZFW experience.

With just over four weeks to go now NZFW 2018 is set to be an exciting celebration of New Zealand fashion.
