Fashion fans have been flocking to Designer Wardrobe since the peer to peer sales and rental platform first launched online in 2013. Founder, Donielle Brooke has been busy refining her innovative fashion service since then and with the growing popularity of her business is now expanding with a dedicated fashion rentals concept space. It’s a first for the brand and means customers can choose from the brand’s vast offering of designer pieces and try on a selection in person, renting the garments for a fraction of their retail price.
Among the brands on offer are Designer Wardrobe favourites Ruby, Zimmermann, Sass & Bide, Trelise Cooper, Realisation Par, Alice McCall and many more. The store immediately solves the “I have nothing to wear tonight!” problem that has made the online platform so incredibly popular especially among young women. Renting garments is very much on trend and a much more affordable and responsible way to wear something new every weekend.
“Opening a store has been a long term dream for us,” says Donielle. “With the natural growth and success of the website, we saw the need emerge from our Designer Wardrobe members for a physical store to complement the pre-existing online experience.”
The stunning Auckland store features marble surfaces and velvet curtains making for a chic space for shoppers to browse and try on their favourite pieces. Samsung tablets help fuse the store with the online experience allowing customers to purchase their rental, browse extra listings on the website to rent or purchase, and even create their own account to start selling or renting out their wardrobe. The new store is perfectly timed for party season and will no doubt be very popular.
Designer Wardrobe’s store is located at 31a Boston Road, Grafton, Auckland and open Monday-Friday 10am to 5pm, Saturday 10am to 3pm.
