Loobie’s Story Spring/Summer 22 collection: a riot of colour, styles, and silhouettes
Colour and prints have been at the heart of Loobie’s Story since the brand launched in 2010, and designer Laurinda Sutcliffe is clearly still energised by the world around her, with the newest Spring/Summer 22 collection inspired by travelling to exotic places – a recollection of some favourites and a daydream about destinations yet to explore.
Available in-store now, Loobie’s Story delivers bursts of vibrant colours (emerald green, cobalt blue, and fuchsia pink) amidst its cornerstone colours of blush and indigo, which are joined in a supporting role with warm hazelnut, soft avocado, leaf green, old gold, and a full complement of pinks and reds from ruby to cranberry and pink sherbet to watermelon.
The intensity deepens as the collection moves into summer, with Corfu blue, magenta, marigold, and aqua. Neutrals of coffee, indigo, and white create a freshening base and a perfect complement to the riotous array of colour accents to choose from.
Loobie’s Story prints are as diverse as the countries and places they are named after, roaming through ethnic feminine prints, modern botanical, created patchwork, and overprinted toile, with cleverly engineered borders and printed tapes accentuating styling and design lines.
Feminine styling features across all our favourite dress lengths – midi, maxi, and just below the knee. Statement jackets and cropped cardis are designed with proportion in mind, as is suiting with short, fitted jackets, wide leg, and slimline pant options offered in textured fabrications.
Shirring provides both decoration and shaping on yokes, waists, and sleeves, moving the vintage and Victoriana trends of winter into the warmer months.
Embroidery is juxtaposed between denim, tulle, and knitwear showcasing its versatility for casual, dressy, or textured styling. Slips have been replaced with the finest cotton lining for hot summer months.
A variety of feminine cotton trims, gorgeous tassel ties and belts, mini ruffles, and delicate yoke shirring provide the second-glance details we love about Loobie’s Story garments.
