Counting down to “Fashion in the BIG little City”

With flair and flourish, the colourful world of fashion will come alive in Auckland’s central city as “Fashion in the BIG little City” will serve up a sensational array of fashion shows, parties, music, markets, films, exhibitions and events – all hosted by well-known city businesses, restaurants and galleries.

Over 100 retailers from around the city’s fashion hotspots of Britomart, the High Street District and Queen St are involved in this year’s fashion extravaganza with plenty of special offers, in-store activations and shopping incentives.

Also up for grabs are two $2,500 shopping sprees, which you’ll be in to win when you spend over $20 at any participating retailer, so you can ‘shop to your heart’s content’ in the central city.

Soak up the artistic nature of fashion at the Auckland Museum with the special exhibition Off the Wall: The World of Wearable Art (WOW) Up Close, and a fashion talk with Mathew Norman at the Auckland Art Gallery.

Make sure you check out the High Street District for its colourful market day in Freyberg Square on the 9th March with food, fashion, art and music. Pop-up City Sounds (mobile music concerts) in 3 locations also on Saturday 9th March – feature popular Weird Together with Nick D, Dick Johnson and world music friends in Darby Street (11am), QE 11 Square (1pm), and Freyberg Square (3pm).

Don your Sunday best on Sunday 10 March with the official wrap party in Freyberg Square (2-5pm). With free DJ entertainment from George FM and refreshments from the Perrier bar, it’s the place to be seen, relax and unwind after 11 days of all things Fashion.
