It’s definitely cool enough to break out the really warm garments and WE-AR‘s certified organic cashmere pieces are perfect for this chilly weather. This is the second cashmere release for WE-AR this year, as their first offering had already sold out pre-winter. The cosy garments are part of the ethical fashion brand’s Autumn/Winter 2018 capsules ‘Modularity’ and ‘Winter Deep’.
Cashmere is a luxurious extension of WE-AR’s ethically made collections which are known for their practical, contemporary pieces in natural fabrics. Super soft cashmere is said to be stronger, lighter, and finer than sheep wool alternatives and around three times more insulating which is exactly what you want on frigid winter days. Each piece is designed to be treasured and worn season after season as are all WE’AR’s items. Among the new cashmere pieces are sweaters, long sleeve rib tops, arm warmers and scarves. The pieces beautifully complement WE’AR’s winter capsule collections in shades of grey, khaki, rose, orange, black and white.
Ethical values are at the heart of WE-AR and founder Jyoti Morningstar spent several years searching for the right certified organic cashmere supplier before finally finding one in Nepal in 2017. Jyoti is truly passionate about creating authentic, ethical collections and travelled to Nepal to immerse herself in the life of organic cashmere production, ensuring they were a perfect fit for WE-AR’s vision. During her time in Nepal, Jyoti learnt about the production processes of cashmere and was able to get to know the staff and local community of her supplier.
