The Eco Tan story began when Sonya Driver’s 30-year-old sister was diagnosed with Melanoma. Still wanting a tan, Sonya was uncomfortable with her options; sun tanning was clearly too high a risk, and spray tanning was laden with nasty chemicals that easily absorb into the bloodstream. Her solution? Develop a safe, natural tan alternative – Eco Tan. Eco Tan is the only organic tan to be certified by the Organic Food Chain, Australia’s organic government approved certified body.
The Eco Tan product range contains no synthetic colouring, instead creating a natural looking glow with natural cacao (chocolate), herbs, flower extract, fruit extract and chamomile from Mother Earth. There are four different vegan tanning products to suit all needs and skin types; Invisible Tan®, Winter Skin® a gradual tanning moisturiser, Cacao Firming Mousse and Face Tan Water™. The Eco Tan range is rounded out with an Extreme Exfoliant Glove for easy skin preparation and a vegetarian Natural Coconut Sunscreen for UV protection. All of the Eco Tan products are Certified organic, accredited toxic free and cruelty-free.
Sonya has since developed a selection of gorgeous body products under Eco By Sonya Driver that complement the Eco Tan range by ensuring that the skin is nourished and healthy prior to, and after tanning. The range, also natural, vegan and cruelty free, consists of a Pink Himalayan Salt Scrub which removes old tan and dead skin cells for a smoother, long-lasting tan; a refreshing Lemongrass, Pink Grapefruit Foaming Body Wash and a Coconut Mint Body Wash to keep the skin moisturised, prolonging the life of your tan; and a nourishing, hydrating Coconut Body Milk. The Eco by Sonya Driver range also includes a paraben and aluminium free Coconut Deodorant as well as an Organic Personal Outdoor Spray.
Invisible Tan® – Express self-tanning crème (150ml) RRP $39.95
Best suited for medium to olive skin tones, Invisible Tan creates a believable colour after only one application. Apply the crème after an evening shower and wake up golden brown after the tan develops overnight.
Pink Himalayan Salt Scrub (250gm) RRP $39.95
Use as a dry scrub in conjunction with the Eco Tan Extreme Exfoliant Glove on the body and face 48 hours prior to tanning to prep the skin or to remove old tan and deliver ultimate hydration. The organic lemongrass is anti-bacterial and healing, targeting stretch marks, dry skin, pigmentation, acne and cellulite. Apply tan 24-48 hours after using the scrub for optimal results.
