It’s no secret that local label hej hej adore linen and the brand recently released their latest range aptly titled ‘Ode to Linen’. Co-founders, Alice Isles and Kiki Judd, have grown a loyal following for their playful brand and it’s beautiful linen looks since they launched the label in 2018. Their latest collection is full of pretty hues like periwinkle, pink and pea green with classic tones of grey, white and navy. The pieces themselves are also easy to wear with relaxed fit dresses, elegant shirting and some seriously appealing pants complete with shell buttons that are among the key styles in the collection.
The brand recently launched their first-ever store at BLOC, Mount Eden which showcases their gorgeous new range.
“We’ve always loved having the opportunity to meet our customers at our popup stores,” says hej hej co-founder, Kiki Judd. “After a successful Christmas popup at BLOC, when we heard a longer term space at BLOC was available, we couldn’t resist.”
At BLOC the hej hej store is joined by A&C Homestore, Monstera’s ‘Little Babies’ store and the Bloc Cafe who neighbour the space. While other design-led brands like BoConcept, Father Rabbit and Città are also in the building. “We love being surrounded by likeminded brands who believe in great design and building a community,” says hej hej co-founder, Alice Isles.
The fit-out for the store reflects hej hej’s fresh approach to fashion and love of colour with stylish elements that help bring their latest collection to life. “We wanted to design a store that reflected the personality of our customers – people with equal parts style and attitude,” adds Alice.
Editor’s note 24th March 2020: Because of the current situation in New Zealand, retail fashion stores will be closed by tomorrow but hej hej will be available to shop online until the physical store re-opens once the restrictions are lifted.
